Our intermediate lessons work on refining technique and style and furnishing you with more information, background and understanding of the sport.
If you’re aiming to get out there in the surf, we can cover a lot of preparatory technique on flat water. For example, we can look at paddling for speed and distance, how to deal with stronger winds, paddling techniques etc. We’ll also discuss safety issues and general water awareness.
Although our beginner lesson will equip you with enough information to carry on paddleboarding under your own steam, getting some further instruction to refine and improve technique is well worthwhile.
The lesson starts with some onshore discussion as to what you’re hoping to achieve, and the techniques involved.
Once on the water, all intermediate lessons will take the form of a cruise – as the most important thing to improve your paddleboarding, is time on the water. While we’re cruising, we will discuss and practise the techniques that you’re looking to work on.
With our Intermediate lessons we work with smaller groups so we can work closely with you to work on your technique and are normally around 1.5 hours, but can be extended if you’re enjoying yourself and/or want to be stretched a little further.
Prices are $75 per person for a private lesson for two or $95 for a private Lesson.
Lessons are usually run on Saturday mornings and occasionally midweek mornings depending on availability. We don’t run lessons in the afternoon due to the prevailing winds
